Amber Benson is an American actress, director, and producer. She is most famous for her role as Tara Maclay in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Benson has also written the show, directed it and even starred in her own films Chance as well as Lovers Liars & Lunatics. In addition, she appeared in the movie Kiss the Bride. Benson was the youngest child from Edward Benson and Diane Benson. Benson was born in Birmingham in Alabama, on January 1977. Danielle Benson, her artistic younger sister. Her father is Jewish as is her mom. She born and raised in the state of Alabama. Southern Baptist Benson grew up attending a Reform synagogue located in Alabama. Benson was a part of Morganville The Series and in The Killing Jar since Buffy's end. Behind the camera, she used her writing abilities into her Ghosts of Albion series and was the director on shows like The Killing Jar in 2010 and Drones. Buffy, after spending an effort and time in locating them, claims there are over 1800 Slayers all over the world, and 500 of them working with the Scooby Gang. Slayers will become Slayers after they have reached maturity. Soledad's Slayer power was revealed when she turned sixteen.
