Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most rare of all pop artists: one who could successfully cross the divide between pop and country music, conquering the globe. Swift dropped country as if it was another layer, showing that she's perhaps the most intelligent pop singer/songwriter of her time. A person who has the ability to tap into the mood of times to make her music personal as well as sing in the other direction. Swift's early tracks like the Neotribute in tribute to Tim McGraw were a testament to her talent. But, her follow-up album Fearless of 2008 proved to be the songwriter finding her voice and a wider audience. Fearless went on to become a global hit and not just in the United States (where it earned with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia, the U.K. as well as other nations. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous successes, propelling the singer into superstardom. The next three years, her fame grew -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014), and 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as she entered a new realm of pop where her talents were already well-established. Her name was always on top of the charts until she reverted to her own style on her sister albums folklore & Evermore in 2020.
