Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family and volunteering in the community. The first time, he was raised with Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon on an agricultural property near Eufala located in Oklahoma as one of their nine children. Two soccer. He was one of the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in the entire nation. For the three seasons that Roy played as a player, Oklahoma won two National Championships. A third scholarship saw him named as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned his degree in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout college. Following college, he moved to Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers played an all-pro three times before beginning his business career. By 1988, he became an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as among the top 10 young men in the US. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6'2 inches. In his time at college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993, as associate director of sports. In 1988, Selmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. The same year, he also was a part of his way into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
