
Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez June 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her first big break came with Tina's character in Do the Right Thing (1989), then followed closely by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez's performance on Fearless (1993) resulted in a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in addition to other awards. Perez's roles as a star in movies include It Could Happen to You (1994) and The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007), as well as Birds of Prey (2018). Perez also earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990, 1994 and) as well as another Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her work as The Flight Attendant. She has been in Broadway stage plays like The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She also co-hosted on the ABC talk show The View during the series' 18th season. She attended Grover Cleveland High School, located in the Ridgewood neighborhood in Queens.
