Taylor Alison Swift, born December 13, 1989 is an American musician and singer. Swift was born in West Reading and went to Nashville to be a country singer at the tender age of 14. She signed an agreement for songwriting and recording with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. The self-titled debut album that she released in 2006 made her the first female artist to be certified platinum in the United States. Swift's next album, Fearless (2008) was about country music. Speak Now (2010) was her second. The tracks "Love Story", and "You Belong with Me" from the former were the first songs to have top of the U.S. all-genre and pop charts. Red (2012) featured Red's first Billboard Hot 100 single, "We Are Never Ever Coming Back Together." She abandoned her image as a country singer in 1989 (2014), which was supported chart-topping songs like "Shake ItOff", "Blank Space", or "Bad Blood". Reputation 2017 featuring the top-selling track "Look at What You Did Me Do", was the result of media scrutiny. Swift left Big Machine and signed with Republic Records in 2018. In the year 2018, Swift released Lover (2019), her seventh studio album. She was then followed by Miss Americana (2020), which is an autobiographical documentary. Swift's 2020 albums Folklore (2019) and Evermore (2020) were her first ventures into alternative rock and indie music. "Cardigan" was an album that ranked in the top ten, and "Willow" was a Top 100 hit. Swift started recording her earlier six albums following an argument with the masters. Two albums were reissued in 2021--Fearless(Taylor’s version) and Red (Taylor’s version). "All Too Well (10 minute version)" was the longest track to make it to the top of the Hot 100. The album she released in 2022, Midnights and its lead single "Anti-Hero", set records for streaming music that have stood the test of time. Swift has also directed music videos and movies which include All Too Well: the Short Film (2021) and All Too Well: the Short Film (2021), as well as played supporting roles in many others. Swift is one of history's most-selling artists, having sold over 200,000,000 records around the globe.
